Basic Science which is also called pure science, develops basic information to predict and perhaps explain and understand phenomena in the natural world. Fields of engineering are closely related to basic sciences. Basic science programme deals with molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry, pure and applied physics and mathematics, as well as interdisciplinary areas that underlie human health, the preservation of the environment and human well-being. The principal idea behind something being labeled as basic science is that the study of basic science leads to a better understanding of natural phenomena.
